  • FasTags allow vehicles to pass through toll plazas without stopping, saving significant time during journeys, especially on busy routes and highways.
  • FasTags enable automatic deduction of toll charges from a prepaid account linked to the tag, eliminating the need for cash transactions and reducing congestion at toll booths.
  • FasTags are accepted at all National Highway toll plazas across India, providing seamless travel experiences for both local and long-distance travelers.
  • With FasTags, travelers often benefit from discounted toll rates compared to cash payments, leading to long-term cost savings, especially for frequent commuters and commercial vehicle operators.
  • FasTags offer secure and tamper-proof transactions, reducing the risk of theft or loss associated with carrying cash. Additionally, electronic transactions minimize the chances of errors in toll collection.
  • By reducing the time spent idling at toll plazas, FasTags contribute to lower fuel consumption and emissions, thereby promoting environmental sustainability and reducing air pollution.
  • Many toll plazas have dedicated FasTag lanes, allowing users to bypass queues and experience smoother passage, especially during peak travel times.

If a double deduction of toll charges occurs with a FasTag, it can be a frustrating experience for the user. However, there are steps that can be taken to address this issue:

  • 1. The first step is to check the transaction history associated with the FasTag account. This can typically be done online through the FasTag issuer's website or mobile app. Verify if indeed there has been a double deduction.
  • 2. If a double deduction is confirmed, the user should immediately contact the customer support of the FasTag issuer bank. Provide them with details of the transactions, including the date, time, and location of the toll booths where the double deduction occurred.
  • 3. Request a refund for the duplicate charge. Most FasTag issuers have a process in place for handling such issues and will initiate a refund to the user's FasTag account or the linked bank account/card.

FASTag will work on all the enabled toll plazas across the country. In case you are shifting to a different city or changing your current address, you are requested to kindly communicate the same to your Tag issuing bank.

Inform the customer support representative of FasTag issuer about the damage to your FASTag and provide relevant details such as the account number, vehicle registration details, and any other information they may require.

If the damage is severe and renders the FASTag unusable, request a replacement from the issuer. They will typically guide you through the process of obtaining a new FASTag and may assist with transferring the balance from the old tag to the new one.

In case you have sold or transferred your vehicle, we would request you to inform your issuing bank about the same and close the account.

The tag has a validity of 5 years and after purchasing, you only need to recharge/ top up the tag as per your usage.

In case FASTag is not acceptable at the toll plaza, the Customer should call on the 1033 toll-free number and register the complaint about the same. 1033 call center is set up by NHAI (Govt. of India) for all road assistance to the highway user which includes FASTag as well.
